A new Japanese Dynasty
Japan’s economy and foreign policy are moving in new directions. The nation has worked to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership and, in a number of separate negotiations, is establishing new trade, investment, technology transfer and other arrangements with the European Union, China, Korea and additional nations.
These developments offer Japanese firms and their trade associations and other representatives with dramatically new opportunities to expand output and lift the economy. At the same time, there is an unprecedented need for solid information, analysis and coordination to ensure that commercial interests are being advanced and to understand the way these negotiations, and intertwined foreign policy and political relationships, are affecting business opportunities.
The Transnational Strategy Group Team
This is where Transnational Strategy Group, and its team located around the world, in North America (United States and Canada), Europe, Asia and Middle East, can assist. Our senior advisors are experts in their geographic region and/or industrial sector and have extensive contacts on every continent. They have decades of experience, often at the top levels of individual governments or the European Union, and/or in key sectors such as trade, energy, environment, agriculture, autos, chemicals, primary metals, pharmaceuticals and other sectors. This experience may be on the executive or administrative side of government or on the legislative side, which gives us detailed knowledge of how the legislative, regulatory and political processes work in different parts of the world. One of our senior advisors was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Most importantly, they can provide clients in-depth integrated intelligence (analysis) and likely implications as well as advocate for client interests at senior government levels.
Our Work in Japan
In Japan, we have senior advisors and associates who have worked with Japanese government and industry for decades and in some cases lived in Japan. We are familiar with the current political dynamics in Japan, as well as Japanese-U.S. and Japanese-EU relations and other geopolitical and geoeconomic factors that shape today’s trade negotiations.
In addition, our network of senior advisors in Canada, China, India, Israel and the United Arab Emirates, as well as in Europe, is able to assist individual Japanese firms and associations to identify potential trade, investment, joint venture, licensing or other partners and to seek government support for such ventures. We can provide international government relations and related services.
Please see the firm’s website, www.transnationalstrategy.com, for additional details and for specific information on members of our Japan Practice Group. We look forward to identifying ways in which we can assist Japan-based clients.
