Kazuo (Kaz) Ichijo is a Professor at IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland). He was also Dean and Professor at the School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University Business School, Tokyo, Japan.
He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. His research interests are focused on organizational knowledge creation theory, and he is one of the pioneers in this new discipline and practice of innovation. His research in this field has been globally recognized. Kazuo Ichijo has widely published in these research areas. His book, Enabling Knowledge Creation: How to Unlock the Mystery of Tacit Knowledge and Release the Power of Innovation, won a Best Business Book of the Year award from the Association of American Publisher’s Professional and Scientific Publishing division.
Dr. Ichijo is quite active in providing consulting and leadership training to a number of global companies focusing on organizational renewal and strategic innovation. He has been involved as a consultant and an outside board member in many corporate transformation activities. His clients are global, including active engagements with companies in the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
