Ambassador Warlick, a former U.S. Ambassador to Serbiaand Senior Foreign Service Officer, retired from the Department of State in September 2017 following a diplomatic career of over 34 years. She served in a variety of senior leadership positions in Washington and overseas, including as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs (2014-2017), U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (2010-2012), and Principal Officer and U.S. Consul General in Melbourne, Australia (2012-2014).

Ambassador Warlick has worked extensively on Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, including in assignments as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russia at the National Security Council, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO Policy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, and Director of the State Department’s Offices of Russian Affairs, and Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus Affairs. She also served as Minister-Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

Ambassador Warlick holds a B.A. in Political Science and Humanities from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She is a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Eurasia Foundation. She served previously on the boards of the International Energy Agency, the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, and the Australian-American Fulbright Commission. She is a recipient of The Secretary of State’s Career Achievement Award, The Secretary of State’s Award for Public Outreach, and The Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service.
